US Camanachd Shinty Coaching Session announced for Merced, California The next US Camanachd event has been scheduled, this time in the city of Merced, home of the Central California Camanachd Club (CCCC). This session, lead by coach Michael Bentley, will focus on hitting, skills drills, and conditioned games. Bentley, having taken the Camanachd Association Foundation and Level 1 coaching & referee courses, is fresh off a weekend in Portland working with Oregon & Willamette Shinty Clubs as well as Columbia Red Branch Hurling Club. The Merced workshop will build on the work CCCC founder Steve Aitchison has done with this newest of US shinty clubs, who appeared at the Modesto Highland Games in June.
